The Most Popular Music Videos Released This Week (7/18)

You guys, I've been waiting to write this sentence since we started this website: this week, Weird Al dominated music videos. That felt good. He set himself up for this to be his week, embarking on an ambitious 8 music videos in 8 days campaign that started on Monday. Although almost all of the videos were premiered in different places (Nerdist, College Humor), they eventually made their way to YouTube where they cashed in those views. The top three videos of the week are all Weird Al, with his "Word Crimes" video coming in at #1, "Foil" and "Tacky" were behind that. "Handy" - a parody of "Fancy" - came out today but is not up on YouTube yet.

Also appearing on the top 10 is Jenny Lewis' self-directed clip featuring the likes of Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson, Kristen Stewart, and Tennessee Thomas: "One Of The Guys." Paris Hilton has a new Hannah Lux Davis-directed clip that makes the cut, and Nabil's beautiful video for Alt J's "Hunger Of The Pine" is there as well.

Want to hear us talk about some of the videos with director Ben Fee? Sorry, can't help you there. Just kidding! We have a podcast and this week's episode is here. The top 25 playlist is here.

I'd say see you at Applebee's but we're currently headed over to the Georgia Music Video show at this week's Sprockets Music Video Festival in Athens, GA. I have requested Applebees-like food however, so we'll see how that goes.
