The music video was created in the memory of Charlie Derrick, a young guitar teacher who tragically died in a car crash.
As a tribute Charlie is portrayed by an uncredited look-alike who is featured during the first chorus. His face is out of focus as to further elude we are looking at Charlie

On the first day of filming the playback equipment inexplicably malfunctioned and would cut out- this happened just as things got emotional in the studio when thinking of Charlie Derrick.
The crew said it was a sign from Charlie.

The feather features at the beginning and end, representing an angel’s feather and is symbolic of Charlie and the work of the Charlie Derrick Music Foundation which serve as a ‘guardian angel’ to young musicians.

The Superman symbol features numerous times in the music video, once at the beginning as a poster on the wall and later on printed on a tea mug. In comic lore, the Superman symbol is alien for ‘Hope’ but also it represents the child’s father.

The song nd video were created on the ten year anniversary of the Charlie Derrick Music Foundation but also the death of Charlie. The boy at the end is exactly ten years older than the boy at the beginning, representing that segment of the music video takes place ten years in the past.

The young man in the guitar shop was one of the Guitarists on the track but is also the son of the track’s lead vocalist Lorna.

The behind the scenes footage at the beginning is of the artists getting ready to shoot the end sequence to the video.
The idea being you watch the video gradually evolve from a behind the scenes making of gradually into a full narrative music video.

In the final act of the video the aspect ratio changes from 2:35:1 into 1:85:1 to add impact. This represents the coming together of everyone in the previous scenes to help the dad get his son a guitar; something the Charlie Derrick Music Foundation specializes in.
