New Release Highlight: "Carry On" by Fun, Directed by Anthony Mandler

Both Fun and Anthony Mandler are kind of having banner years. For Fun, Some Nights was released in February and you know the rest. For Mandler, he's been releasing some of 2012's best work, including "National Anthem" for Lana del Rey and "As Long as You Love Me" by Justin Bieber. Safe to say these guys will be putting 2012 into the win column.

So the idea of them getting together for a music video in the final months of 2012 is intriguing, and the result doesn't dissapoint. The tour video is well-worn music video territory, but Fun and Mandler do what they do best and make it into one of 2012's best music videos offerings.

"Carry On" finds the lads from Fun in and around New York City - having drinks, walking the streets - all while flashbacks of shows and working moments give us a glimpse into their life as a working band. Nate Ruess is magnetic in this video, entertaining a small group of party guests with just a piano, and then a concert hall full of screaming fans, all with ease. He looks like he's still coming to terms with the realization that Fun is one of the biggest bands in the world, and carries the video with an energy that culminates in a fantastic scene inside Grand Central Terminal.

Along with this video, Fun has announced a large early 2013 US tour, including a February 2013 NYC stop, so if you see them out after that show, buy them a round of oysters and martinis.
