“Broken Ones” by Jacquie Lee is an empowering song about celebrating the people who feel imperfect, out of place, or forgotten. In the video, Jacquie performs the song alone in empty and neglected spaces, appearing to embody one of these “broken” characters that she sings about. Director Max Nichols then begins to introduce us to a series of other female characters, in similar settings, who also appear broken down by the world around them.

Rather than spend the whole video sitting on the floor looking upset, each of the girls is able to find the strength to create something beautiful within their environment. One girl starts to paint, another begins to dance, one grabs a typewriter, another finds a piano - each girl mirroring Jacquie’s performance with art of their own. The video ends with each of them accomplishing something beautiful, taking these girls who once seemed forgotten and ignored, and connecting them through the joy of artistic expression.

"Broken Ones" was produced by Brooke McDaniel for The DOT Content and can be downloaded as a single now.
