You most likely know Idris Elba as Russell "Stringer" Bell on HBO's "The Wire". Starting today you can watch him put on a clinic in music video acting in the video for Mumford & Sons' new single "Lover of the Light" (due to be issued as a single on December 3rd).

Mumford & Sons are apparently not that into making music videos:

We've been fortunate to work with some great directors in the past, but we've always been uncomfortable with the process of making music videos. Talking to Idris and Dan about making a video that we're not in made it a lot more fun to think about.

The video, starring Elba and directed by Elba and writer Dan Cadan, is a beautifully shot story of a blind man and his relationship with the light around him. It was shot in Pembrokeshire, Wales, which has been featured in many a feature film, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
