In the video for Around The Block by Pretty Lights featuring Talib Kweli, director Anthony Dickenson focuses on the technical process of creating music and visuals - the wires, knobs, interfaces, and the human element that goes into creating sound and visuals. Pretty Lights is stationed at his setup, recording audio, scrubbing through timelines, and queuing up clips that become part of the video itself - all on his LG IPS 21:9 UltraWide monitors.
The video's product placement is an intriguing example of a music video where a product plays a central role in the concept, instead of just making a quick cameo. Pretty Lights also gets a lot done over the course of the video: as day turns to night he's even got the album cover for A Color Map Of The Sun in the finishing stages in Photoshop.
