New Release: Echosmith "Cool Kids"
Performance segments in music videos can serve a variety of purposes. They can show how awesome the band is, how sexy they are, how cool their dance moves are, and sometimes, they are able to add something to the song that wouldnt be there in an audio recording of it. The performance portions in "Cool Kids" by Echosmith, might do all of those, but it definitely does that last one. The pitch-perfect performance that lead singer Sydney Sierota gives in this video adds an element to the song that wouldnt be there when simply listening to it. Cut between shots of other actual cool kids, Sydney expresses the desire to fit in through her eyes and demeanor in her performance, and director Gus Black does a great job of capturing it all.
