Utilizing his trademark style consisting of abstract colourful organic growth and shapeshifting landscapes, this outing sees Thom Yorke take the form of a deteriorating monument immersed in a spiralling quicksand-like landscape.
Dream Koalas video for Odyssey features a beautifully rendered and detailed tropical landscape thats peaceful setting soon reveals a tale of tragedy. A very rewarding release for patient viewers. The tone and themes are reminiscent of another recently released favourite video of mine, Young Galaxys New Summer, which also found majesty and beauty via tragedy. Where Odyssey trumps that one, is that one might sense the greater story waiting to be unlocked and may even return for a second viewing to search for clues.
