Carlos Lopez Estrada's Top 10 Music Videos of 2015

Posted by Carlos Lopez Estrada on December 29, 2015 in Lists

These are the ten videos of 2015 that stuck with me the most.

(It is actually just a list of shout-outs to my buddies.)

In no particular order:

I am embarrassed to admit how many times I've seen this one. It is so good, it makes me angry.

This reminds me of the videos I saw on MTV while growing up and initially got me excited about video-making. It gives me an early-2000's thrill that makes me very nostalgic.

The fact that this organization exists and allows kids to learn about film by making a music video for Brandon Flowers during summer camp is, I believe, a good enough reason to make this my favorite video of the year.

This is not a music video, but Andy is a brilliant artist and deserves all the recognition in the world.

This video has such striking, memorable images. It is also very thoughtfully designed around the music, and I appreciate that.

Ian is a good friend and a bottomless pit of creativity. I saw this video on a big screen at Cameraimage and it affected me more than most movies I've seen this year. It's better than Star Wars.

Such a good, fun, and concise idea.

I've had nightmares that look like this. More reasons to be angry at Hiro.

This is another one that really stuck with me. I think MIA is an artist who treats her work with a great sense of responsibility- and that should be celebrated.

Very pretty eye candy. They should make an interactive VR experience out of this. Imagine walking through those points and being able to push them around... Kickstarter!
