After releasing a fairly simple video for Midnight earlier this year, Coldplay is back with a much larger production for their Magic music video. The video begins with the words a Jonas Åkerlund film, and thats no exaggeration as everything about this video feels like a film, more specifically a silent film from the 1920s. Starring Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragons Ziyi Zhang and Coldplays Chris Martin, Magic focuses on a love triangle between a beautiful magician (Zhang), her handsome assistant (Martin), and her drunk mustachioed husband (Martin again). For a band like Coldplay who doesnt need to do much more than walk through the woods to generate over 12 million views on their music video, its really refreshing to see them go with something big with their latest effort.
