Hannah Lux Davis has become the go-to director for the post-VMA pop star blockbuster music video. Last year, she was in New York the day after the VMAs directing 23 by Mike WiLL Made It feat. Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J one of the biggest videos if the year, currently sitting at over 300 million views in 11 months. This year, she teamed up with VMA openers Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj on the video for Bang Bang, which MTV premiered online immediately after the VMA performance of the song.
In the same way she was able to combine the list of big names in the 23 video, Hannah strikes the perfect balance in Bang Bang. Each pop star gets equal coverage, and she hits a stylistic note that fits perfectly into each divas artistic direction which is important because although this song technically is billed as Jessie J featuring Ari and Nicki, each artist has a new album either out or almost out, and you can expect this song to appear on all of them. The video finds the ideal mix of fun and funny elements with sexy and stylish ones, and is full of fantastic performances from all three artists, both when theyre on camera alone or as a group.
