She & Him

If you’re anything like us, the first time you heard She & Him (the musical duo made up of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward) you went, “Whaaat? I didn’t know Zooey Deschanel could sing like that, you guys!” And now, you get to have the same reaction to her abilities as a music video director, because Zooey made her directorial debut this week with “I Could've Been Your Girl” by She & Him, and it's pretty great. The video is unavoidably charming, and features a large amount of fun choreography with some very talented and limber dancers (the dancer in the yellow pants wins Best Dance Move to Screenshot Award). Zooey says this video gave her the chance to “give a nod to some of [her] favorite 60s musicals,” and it also apparently gave M. Ward a chance to look cool in sunglasses. We’re still not exactly sure why she kicks over the kids bike at the beginning of the video, but we know it makes sense.

“I Could've Been Your Girl” come off of Volume 3 by She & Him and the video was produced by Danielle Hinde for Doomsday Entertainment.
