Before there was DVR, if someone wanted to save something from TV, they would have to get some blank VHS tapes and record it with their VCR (usually with the red audio cable left out because most old TVs didn't have the input for it). Often times, they’d be taping over something else, so there would be lots of distortions, glitches, and the footage might even go in and out from what they had recorded on the tape before. It is the joys of that experience that seem to inspire the video for the song "Still Life With Hot Deuce And Silver Platter" by Titus Andronicus. Directed by Bryan Schlam, the video plays like a VHS copy of a Titus concert at Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium venue that had been recorded off the TV. The video feels like it comes right from the early 90s, and even features a moment where the video starts to break down and the tape begins to play random footage of a dude on a skateboard. Despite the VHS feel of the video, there are still some contemporary flairs in there, like small camera attached to some of the instruments, and a handful of modern editing techniques.

“Still Life With Hot Deuce And Silver Platter” was produced by Danielle Hinde for Doomsday Entertainment an can be found on Local Business by Titus Andronicus.
