Warning: if you are afraid of doctors of have a fear of drowning, you may want to sit this one out. The new video for "This Is Gospel" by Panic! at the Disco plays out like a nightmare as Brendon Urie is held down against his will by a team of doctors and then dressed in a suit before being placed in a box filled with water. Director Daniel "Cloud" Campos gives the entire video a nightmare quality by changing details in much the same way nightmares do - for instance, the medical table that Urie is on is in a dark room instead of the usual brightly lit rooms that a hospital would have.

Things get surreal when the doctors begin to pull rope out of Urie's chest, right before Urie tries to run away and those same ropes pull him back onto the medical table. This should be familiar to anyone who has ever had a dream where you try to run away but end up getting pulled back, and Urie ends up being pulled back right to the place where we thought he escaped from - the medical table surrounded by doctors. It's a pretty frightening video for such an up-tempo Panic! at the Disco song, but the pairing works, and Campos translates some of the energy of the song into the energy of Urie's escape attempts. The ending is somewhat ambiguous, as Urie escapes the ropes but seems to die on the medical table - maybe he woke up?

"This Is Gospel" was produced by Danielle Hinde and Ian Blair for Doomsday Entertainment, and the track will be the opening song on their upcoming album Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!, due out in October.
