The video for “Hey Brother” by Avicii, directed by Jesse S, is a story about two brothers during the Vietnam War era in the US. The older of the two brothers, played by Zach Voss, appears to be just old enough to be called to fight in the war, and through cross fades with photos we are shown images of what he likely encounters while there. Most of the video features the two siblings spending time together, enjoying each others company and horsing around, but these happy moments are matched with somber ones, as we are also shown scenes of a military funeral, which we ultimately learn is for the older brother. Despite being a Swedish DJ/producer, Avicii has had a lot of success in the US in 2013, and the song features vocals from bluegrass singer Dan Tyminski, so the very American influenced video is definitely a great fit for the track.

“Hey Brother” was produced by Courtney Davies for BLVD Industries and can be found on the album True.
