Most people already know that if you want to have a good time, an easy way to do that is to throw on some Chromeo and get funky. But did you also know that getting funky with Chromeo music videos is also super fun? Maybe even more fun that just listening to their music. Like their latest video for “Come Alive,” directed by Alex Southam, which feels like a music video homage to the 1987 film Mannequin, and the 1991 film Mannequin Two: On the Move. It opens with Dave 1 outside of a mall, looking cool as always, leaning on a Mini Cooper. Suddenly, a female mannequin appears in the entryway of the mall. The doors magically open and the mannequin is transformed into a sexy lady. Like anyone would do, Dave follows her into the mall and begins singing some funky tunes.

Inside, we find lots more mannequins, and it’s not long before they’re all transformed into sexy ladies. The whole building is now full of used-to-be-mannequin-sexy-ladies who dance behind Dave as he sings through the hallways. It’s amazing. Toro y Moi even gets in on the action, playing a janitor who decides it’s more fun to party with sexy mannequin ladies than it is to mop up a dirty mall. Where does P-Thugg fit into the mix? As mall security of course, and he’s pretty concerned when he sees what’s happening on the security cameras. He also steals the show with his dance moves, which for us is the best part of the whole video.

“Come Alive” was produced by David Cho for BLVD Industries and can be found on the upcoming album White Woman.
