There was a time in the mid/late 2000s where we finally could easily upload and distribute videos on the internet (thanks, YouTube), and we were binging on all the things that we could share. For a while we all decided that our new favorite thing were these little funny clips we could pass around and make famous. Who could forget those days filled with Chocolate Rain or Leave Britney Alone.
Those days of iconic videos are over, but a nice time capsule from that era is Weezer's 2008 video for "Pork and Beans," which not only references all these videos, but gets the people involved. Have a look for yourself:
Recognize anyone? This was a pretty interesting project to take on at the time, which is why the behind the scenes video for this production is pretty fascinating. It doesn't offer much in the way of insight and is instead a pretty straightforward fly on the wall bts, but it's an interesting take on a time period where everyone knew who these people were, and Weezer got them all in the same room.
