The Most Popular Music Videos Released This Week (8/22)

40 million. Thats how many times Nicki Minajs music video for Anaconda was watched this week. Thats over 6 years worth of time spent watching Nicki Minaj shake her butt and spray herself with whip cream over the past 2 days. It is by far the most popular video of the week. I was going to come in here and talk about how it was neck and neck between Nicki and Taylor Swift, but really, its wasnt even close. Dont get me wrong, with over 27 million views, Taylor has a great week with Shake It Off, but Anaconda still outdid it by over 13 million views in 2/3 the amount of time. While this weeks list is full of fantastic videos, the list is usually top heavy with two 25+ million view videos sitting at the top of the list as the only videos of the week to even crack a million views.

Ella Eyre drops a breakup anthem on us with the number three video this week, while Haim and Gerard Way round out the top five with some sweet fabricated TV show vibes. Action Bronson gives an amazing performance in the sprawling "Easy Rider" video, The Weeknd gets NSFW in Often, and Tove Lo hits us with some trippy effects in the video for Not On Drugs.
