What We Learned From Damian Kulash of OK Go's Reddit AMA

Posted by Adam Fairholm on June 20, 2014

Staff Post

Yesterday OK Go's lead singer Damian Kulash did a Reddit AMA to promote their new music video, "The Writing's On the Wall." Here's what we learned!

* Damian Kulash likes the Lego Movie.

* Damian Kulash does not think that OK Go's music video work will overshadow their music, and he is apparently pretty sick of getting that question.

* The warehouse used in "The Writing's On the Wall" is not the warehouse from "This Too Shall Pass."

* The video took about 4 weeks of prep.

* It took 61 takes.

* The "Needing/Getting" video was a very difficult video to make.

* Leaving a label means more risk but more reward.

* They paid for the video themselves.

For more info, check out the full AMA!
