Director Shane Drake pairs uplifting imagery with Aloe Blacc's silky vocals in the video for Hello World (The World Is Ours). Shot in Detroit, the video opens on shots of worn down buildings found around the once beautiful American city. We are shown several young men and woman, each of them covering their head with a black hoodies as they move almost suspiciously through the city. Aloe performs the song in an empty church, looking fly with the sun behind him and a cool hat on his head. The combination of graffiti and abandon buildings makes us think the kids in hoodies are up to no good, but it is soon revealed that they are actually out on a mission for good. They go around cleaning up peoples houses, fixing wheels on baby strollers, and buying up a bunch of food to give to homeless folks.
