tUnE-yArDs And The Roots Give A Music Video-Inspired Performamce Of "Water Fountain" On The Tonight Show

Last night on The Tonight Show, musical guest tUnE-yArDs performed "Water Fountain," the first single off of their new album nikki nack. The performance, which also featured The Roots, was inspired by the Joel Kefali-directed music video for the song, which itself was inspired by Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Merrill Garbus rocks the same outfit, clips from the video are projected behind the band, and many of the elements are on stage, including the monster couch. Savvy viewers might realize that The Roots were not in the original music video, however The Roots and tUnE-yArDs have a history of performing together on Fallon, dating back to their amazing performance of "Gangsta" in early 2011, which was actually tUnE-yArDs' first ever TV appearance.
