The Most Popular Music Videos Released This Week (6/20)

I'm a fan of when good things come back. For example, everyone likes when the McRib comes back. That's actually the only example I can think of right now, but that's not important. What is important is that this week we had a slew of awesome things coming back in music video form.

For instance, Lana Del Rey's poster dude for an older, cool guy - Mark Mahoney - came back in her new video for "Shades of Cool" to reprise his role from "West Coast." Mark Mahoney is an awesome guy, so if you can get him to look cool for you, why would you go with anyone else.

Destiny's Child also came back this week - sort of - in Michelle William's Jesus-heavy video for "Say Yes," that features Beyonce and Kelly Rowland. If you enjoy Destiny's Child, Jesus, and/or backyards, chalk this one up in the win column!

But the king pins of coming back this week were OK Go, who blew everyone's mind with the spiritual sequel to their 2012 video "This Too Shall Pass": "The Writing's On The Wall." After close to a decade of topping themselves with music videos, OK Go managed to raise the bar even higher. They were rewarded with the #1 spot for the week.

There were so many music videos to see this week, so check out our top 25 new releases playlist, and maybe even listen to our podcast this week where we talk about these videos and more with director and animator Geoff Hoskinson. Now it's time to get out of here, Applebees is calling my name and when Appleebees says yes, you don't dare say no.
