Each week, FRINGE MUSIC FIX culls the latest music video releases, carefully selecting the most bizarre, provocative, and remarkable videos from across the world.

Sit back, relax, and open your mind’s eye; things are about to get interesting. The following are our selections for the week ending April 27th, 2014.

Anyone familiar with acclaimed trio London Grammar, already knows that the band's live performance is as flawless and captivating as their music. Giorgio Testi successfully captures the essence of their breathtaking and calculated live set in his sweeping single take video for "Sights."  The clip's conclusions sees the band themselves as back row observers to their own bewildering spectacle.

LAMAR+NIK serve up a vibrant and spiralling music video for MNEK’s funky alt-R&B single, "Every Little Word."  The video sees MNEK surrounded by a rotating cast of characters dressed in brightly coloured clothing and letting loose to the infectious track's groovy beats.

Australian electropop duo Say Lou Lou and director Jesse John Jenkins have served up an enchanting visual filled with glitter and gold to accompany the lush single, “Everything We Touch."

tUnE-yArDs' video for “Water Fountain” is a well-executed homage to one of my favourites shows as a kid, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.   At the request of tUnE-yArDs’ Merrill Garbus, Director Joel Kefali revives the spirit of the unique and strange children's series through the use of puppetry, 8-bit video game animation, characters in costume and an assortment of colourful and eccentric hosts.

Director Eric Wareheim of Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job! once again revisits his darker side for Tobacco’s video for “Streaker."  Like Wareheim's disturbing video for HEALTH’s “We Are Water," “Streaker” escorts us into the bleakest and most twisted corridors of Wareheim’s imagination. Not unlike their popular Adult Swim series, the music video is styled as a mock advertisement on public-access television and promotes an eerie massage parlour call “Ultima II Massage," which is also the title of Tobacco’s forthcoming LP. After the parlour's proprietor has made his introduction, we are invited through the beaded curtain where things rapidly take a turn for the worse. We bare witness to a variety of nude individuals in terrifying masks, slam dancing, and being disfigured through visual effects. It’s an unforgettable and horrifying experience that the faint of heart may find unbearable. Once again, Eric Wareheim proves he's one of America's most unique and disturbed visionaries.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS
