We're lucky to have the fantastic LA Music Video Festival here in the US, but if you are in the UK, you might not know that you've also got a dedicated music video festival, and it's happening all this month! The BBC Music Video festival is the UK's only dedicated music video festival, and it sounds awesome.

If you want to see some music videos in some really unique venues, the BBC Music Video Festival has got you covered. Select music videos will be shown on the nation-wide BBC Big Screens system, which are a series of 22 270 square foot LED screens set up in public places around Britain. (If you saw pictures of towns and cities throughout Britain watching the 2012 London Olympic Games on huge outdoor screens, they were most likely watching it on a BBC Big Screen.) So, if you want to catch "Oblivion" by Grimes (directed by Emily Kai Bock) on a massive outdoor screen, the BBC Music Video festival is making that happen. You can get more info on the BBC Big Screens here, and select music videos will be screened throughout September, October, and November.

The festival also takes place at an installation in Norwich at the Fusion Digital Gallery, a 24m wide screen in a room that holds around 100 people. I've never even thought of watching a music video on a 24m wide screen, and now I really want to. Videos are being screened 10am-5pm every day through September 29th, and on the weekend of the 22nd, "The BBC Music Video Festival Film Weekend" will also take place in the Curve Auditorium in the same venue.

Like a regular film festival, the BBC Music Video festival takes submissions, and you can submit from anywhere in the world. The August 1st deadline has passed, but there's always next year!

It's great to see such a large event centered around music videos happening in the UK, and great that the event is international in scope. Follow the BBC Music Video festival on Twitter for more. Maybe you'll see your favorite FilmedInsert podcast hosts at next year's event!
