Halloween (or more accurately, normal people Cosplay day) is upon us! Just as there were a lot of ninja turtles walking in 1992, there are a lot of pop culture visuals in both adult and kid Halloween costumes this year. What's exciting for us, here at IMVDb, is seeing some music video references here and there. Here are four music video Halloween costumes we thought were cool.

1. First of all, let's get a Psy in here.

It being 2012, "Gangnam Style" is showing up big time at this year's Halloween. We scoured the web for the most accurate, and here is a very well done one by redditor Kimcheekraut. He really has the jacket, the attitude, and the Asian ethnicity to pull this off. Bonus points for not posting a picture doing the horse dance.

Side note: This Halloween costume is so pervasive there is even a how to video available if you are so inclined:

2. Coffee and TV

Oh man, we did not expect to find this. Remember the Blur "Coffee and TV" video with the milk carton that comes alive and then (spoiler alert) dies? Kind of? It's been 13 years (spooky!), so here's a refresher:

Well, redditor ironlobster has an awesome wife that made them costumes from the video. Amazing.

3. Low Rent California Gurl

Redditor spindycrawford has the best Katy Perry "California Gurls" costume we've seen. It's not about getting the details right, it's about the spirit of the thing. We like her spirit.

4. Bastille "Flaws" Makeup

Although we've seen a lot of fans on Twitter saying they are dressing up as their favorite artists as they appear in music videos for Halloween (I personally would like to see @LexiDelena's promised Lana Del Rey "Ride" costume), tweeter @MollyJaggard delivered the goods with her make up/costume as the girl from the Bastille "Flaws" video, which came out in September. We're pretty sure most people won't get it, but that only makes it awesomer!

5. A lot of People Dressed Up as Die Antwoord

Ninja and Yolandi are a popular costume this year, and as you can see by this collage posted on their facebook page, people have picked up the "Fatty Fatty Boom Boom" video red/white look and are running with it. We support that - I hope some of these couples had an impression worked in as well.

Biggest Disappointments

Try as we might, we saw nobody take on these as costumes this year, and we offer them up as ideas:

Have a fun Halloween everyone!
