Introducing the IMVDb Moderator Program

Up until now, it has literally just been two people (Doug and myself) entering and moderating data on IMVDb. That was fine when we were getting 3-4 video submissions a day, but in the past few months we've been faced with a really great problem to have: way too much data coming in for two people to handle, and way too many music videos out there left to enter into the database. It's time for IMVDb to grow! So, starting today, we are starting our IMVDb moderators program! We're excited.

We want to build a small team of people who enjoy music videos and want to help grow IMVDb on a volunteer basis. As a moderator, you'll have access to all of the tools we've built over the past few months to not only add videos to the database, but also help moderate database submissions. It's a uniquely challenge job, but it's a lot of fun.

There are no quotas of videos to add, or quotas of data to moderate. We're looking for people who want to be part of IMVDb and care that the Director of Photography credit on one video out of thousands is correct. Anyone can become a moderator: people in the industry, fans, and database geeks.

So how do you get started? I'm glad you asked. The process is simple. You tell us that you are interested in becoming a mod, and then we get in contact with you to sign you up for a training session where one of us on staff will walk a group of mods in training through how IMVDb works. After that, you've graduated to becoming a basic IMVDb mod! During training, we'll walk everyone through how our mod levels and privileges system works.

To get started, fill out the form below. If you can't see it, you can find the form here. If you have any questions, you can email me at adam@imvdb.com. We're looking forward to hearing from you!
