The new music video for "Taste of Disarray" by Hawaii-based band Ignite The Red begins with a woman (Justine Godfrey) staring out into sea and looking at a scrap of fabric with a strange symbol on it. Next, we see a man (Darren Inos) fishing on a different shore - he has a book adorned with the same symbol and looks at a photograph. Interspersed with shots of the band, we get scenes of them traveling individually, possibly trying to find each other. What is clear is that they are in some sort of post-apocalyptic world, where thugs wearing gas masks and head bandages might jump out of a train car and chase you down.

The story comes to an end when the woman finds an abandoned house, where inside is the same book that we saw the fishing man looking at at the beginning of the video - including the same symbol. Then, just when we think there may be a reunion, there's no one there and the woman remains alone.

Director Jason Sikorsky manages to create a really compelling and interesting narrative with just a few details in this video, giving us clues and letting us fill in the rest. Our natural inclination as viewers is to assume that the two characters are traveling at the same time and towards the same goal, but the ending makes it clear we need to reinterpret everything we've seen up until that point. The plot details are interspersed with an energetic performance by Ignite the Red in a similar landscape as the characters travel in.

"Taste of Disarray" by Ignite the Red was directed by Jason Sikorsky and DP'd by Michael Tanji. "Taste of Disarray" is available on Ignite the Red EP. You can find Ignite the Red of Facebook here.
