If there was one moment that everyone seems to be talking about from last night’s VMAs, it’s Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke’s medley performance of "We Can't Stop," "Blurred Lines," and "Give It 2 U." While Miley is getting most of the attention right now, Robin is definitely getting some as well (2 Chainz and Kendrick not so much), especially for his awesome black and white striped suit that he wore. That suit, it turns out, is from his newest music video for "Give It 2 U," directed by Diane Martel, who also directed "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines." While VMA performances will typically recreate music videos, it’s rare that all three videos recreated in a performace were directed by the same director, so internally, we actually call this performance "the Diane Martel medley."

The "Give It 2 U" video has a few similar elements from "Blurred Lines," like the large red text introducing the people in the video, but there aren’t any naked girls this time around – there is one naked dude who runs past the screen, though. Some other elements from the video that were recreated in last night’s performance are the use of female college dance teams, homecoming float style set pieces, a woman dressed up as cotton candy, and twerking ladies in football pads. The video ends with a title card of credits that lists Robin as pretty much every position on set other than director, we’re pretty sure this list is inaccurate.
