In "Romantic Dreams" by Deftones, director Brett Novak follows pro skateboarder Jason Park around downtown LA at night to capture some beautiful images of Jason as he maneuvers through the concrete. Focusing just as much on negative space it does on Jason, and using only the lights that the city provides, the video feels like a love letter to LA as much as it feels like a skateboard video, creating something truly unique that still builds on the tradition of the classic skate video. With Jason skating up walls and pulling off moves like a one foot nose grind, the video ends up making an impact even if you don’t know anything about skateboarding. Fans of the video are also in luck, because Brett and Jason will also be working on a short film together later this year.

"Romantic Dreams" was commissioned by Devin Sarno for Warner Bros. Records and can be found on the album Koi No Yokan.
