There are many different ways to do a music video for a Christmas song, but my favorite has always been a well-done performance video. Since many Christmas songs are standards, the track is all about the artist, their performance, and what style they bring to it. A strong performance video fills in the visuals we're missing on a rendition of a Christmas tune.

The new video for "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day" by Echosmith is an example of a Christmas music video that's a great band showcase. Shot as an intimate performance, the video features the four members of Echosmith playing their version of the classic Christmas carol. Directors Terrence Jones and Laura Mende strip away distractions and wisely tone down the Christmas decorations to a few wrapped frames and boxes. We get a good dose of each member of the Sierota siblings, but the camera stays mostly with lead singer Sydney, who shows off a natural camera presence that ties together the entire video.

The video for "I Heard The Bells On Christmas" day was produced by Laura Mende for 3300 Films. The track is available on Warner Bros. Records as a single on Amazon and iTunes.
