Working in an stuffy office environment sucks. That is, unless your office is the office in James Lees’ video for “Scare Away The Dark” by Passenger, in which case your office is kind of awesome. Things start normal enough, with a bunch of sad looking folks slugging through the long day at work. Suddenly, Passenger comes rolling in on an office chair, being pushed by a dude in a short-sleeved dress shirt and recorded by a lady in a skirt suit. Eventually, elements of nature begin flowing into the office – roots sprout from file cabinets, frogs jump out of the copy machines, and water pours from picture frames. These natural elements breaking into this office help mirror the lyrics of the song that talk about appreciating the natural world around you and paying less attention to things like hashtags and “Gangnam Style.” As the employees begin to investigate the source of these plants and animals, and they find that on the other side of their office supplies is an actual forest. Inspired by this discovery, the whole office begins to frolic in nature, ripping off their clothes and finally feeling free.

“Scare Away The Dark” was produced by Kimberly Stuckwisch and Melodie Roulaud for Doomsday Entertainment and can be found on the album Whispers.
