New Release: "Cold Front" by Laura Welsh

Shadow and dance are two of the oldest forms of performance, and in the video for "Cold Front" by Laura Welsh, choreographers Daniel "Cloud" Campos and Tamara Levinson-Campos bring it back to those basics to create a beautiful black and white performance piece.

The video features a woman (Levinson-Campos) struggling with forces around her - first shadow hands that maniuplate and move her, then dark sheets that smother her, and eventually a powder and thick liquid (chocolate?) that cover her. We also get a turn to color and a quick possible resolution at the end of the video after a dip in cleansing water. The scenes move with the intensity of Welsh's track, creating an abstract narrative that builds along with the song.

The video was produced by Doomsday Entertainment. "Cold Front" will be released on the Cold Front EP on July 14. Watch the video below:
