If the video projects leading up to the release of Childish Gambino’s new LP Because the Internet are any indication of what the tone of the album will be, we can expect a dark, introspective hip hop album that comes from the perspective of an artist with a completely unique view of the entertainment industry. Starting with the short film Clapping for the Wrong Reasons, Gambino has now collaborated on three projects with director Hiro Murai, and each of them feature a stoic, almost dejected Gambino set in situations that should make most people happy, like hanging out in a giant house, picking fruit with Topanga, and in the case of their latest project "3005," riding a Ferris wheel at a carnival with a stuffed bear that he probably just won. Filmed in one shot, "3005" focuses on Gabino as he rides the wheel, unimpressed by the lights and fun around him. The stuffed bear begins to move and blink, but none of this seems to get Gambino’s attention either. During the choruses of the song, the camera spins around and loses focus, adding an element of confusion and disorientation to the video that sticks with you even when the camera is locked on Gambino, thanks to the constant rotation of the Ferris wheel.

"3005" was produced by Kimberly Stuckwisch for Doomsday Entertainment and can be found on the upcoming album Because the Internet.
