In the video for “Stick To” by Ace Reporter, directors Peter and Annie aim to personify the natural attraction that moths have to a flame. The video begins by introducing its main characters: Moth Guy, a dust cover dude set in a dimly lit living room, and Flame Girl, a beautiful woman in a bright apartment - holding a flame in her cupped hands. We follow Moth Guy as he rides his bike through the city toward Flame Girl’s building, dust flying off of his hoodie as he does. Peter and Annie make brilliant use of actual moths in this video as well, cutting the action with macro shots of moths in slow motion, allowing viewers to recognize the beauty in these insets that typically are seen as dirty and gross. There is also a great shot of moths swarming around the outside of Flame Girl’s window as Moth Guy arrives. Although Flame Girl has other suitors, she turns around immediately as Moth Guy enters her apartment, offering the rest of her flame to him as their eyes meet.

“Stick To” was produced by Paul Knaus for Doomsday Entertainment and can be found on the album Yearling.
